Chelsea

Chelsea – 60m genius linked

What a player

The list of strikers who have been linked with Chelsea over the last year or so is as long as a particularly monkey like arm. The reason being that, while Chelsea have a squad of myriad talent, they still don’t have a top finisher in his pomp.

While you could hardly call Torres, Eto’o and Ba poor quality, none have grasped the baton passed over when Didier Drogba left the club. Noone has nailed down a place in the side by netting on a regular enough basis.

We think that all three will leave the club in the summer, meaning that Chelsea will probably bring in, not one, but two high profile strikers to the club post May.

There has been a huge amount of talk about Edinson Cavani joining Chelsea. We have little doubt that this would be a super signing for the club. But the one who we have always felt would suit Chelsea best is Zenit St.Petersburg striker Hulk. The Brazilian has an exquisite touch but is also inordinately powerful. As such he is almost a replica of the great Drogba.

Mourinho loves these sorts of players and we could easily imagine him asking Hulk to lead the line for Chelsea next season. The Express today stokes the transfer flames by reporting that Hulk has been in London on unspecified business:

BRAZILIAN striker Hulk has stoked speculation that he could join Chelsea in the summer by posting a picture of him boarding a plane for London on Instagram.

A more tenuous transfer link you will struggle to find. Nevertheless Hulk, who joined Zenit in 2012 for 60m Euros, would be the ideal signing for the Chelsea front line in our view.

Let’s see him in action. Chelsea fans would you rather sign Cavani or Hulk?
