Chelsea: Massive forward deal mooted

Big deal in the offing?

Chelsea will be a bit sore today after failing to take maximum points against West Brom on Tuesday evening.

Despite their lowly position in the league West Brom are a good side and there is no shame in coming away from The Hawthorns with a point.

But, in a season which looks so tight at the top, any points dropped from this point onwards will be seen as disastrous.

Manchester City have had a bit of a wobble recently but, make no mistake, they are still a frightening force to be reckoned with. Any team that finishes above them will surely win the league this season.

Some won’t expect Chelsea to win the title again just yet. The Special One will continue his rebuilding project through the summer and the latest reports suggest that a massive swap deal could be on.

The Metro reports that Fernando Torres could be used as bait to bring in one of the hottest properties in world football.

Chelsea are ready to include Fernando Torres in a new offer for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.

The Blues have made signing another forward at the end of the season their number one priority.

With Fernando Torres having played, with great success, for Atletico this deal does seem to make a lot of sense. A homecoming like this could be just the tonic to get Torres’s career back on track. And Chelsea really need a striker who can bang in 30 plus goals per season.

Despite some big-money strikers failing to do the business at Stamford Bridge over the last few years, you would imagine that Diego Costa would be a nailed on certainty for success at Chelsea, if a deal were done.

Let’s have a look at the lad in action. Chelsea fans – is this the striker to bring domestic dominance and Champions League glory to the club?
