Manchester United winger Nani has to be one of the most frustrating players of all time. Frustrating because the player is capable of such ingenuity but delivers only sporadically. Nani can’t control his genius. He is a highly skilful but highly inconsistent footballer. He regularly does the hard bits well but even more regularly does the easy things badly.

Overall, we think that Nani sometimes lacks the top football brain to go with his awesome natural ability. He’s been at Manchester United for 7 years and the time has surely come, probably for the benefit of all parties, to let him go.

One player whose name is currently doing the rounds, in relation to a replacement for Nani at Manchester United, is Lucas Moura. The PSG prodigy nearly came to United a year ago but opted for the French club at the eleventh hour, in a deal reported to be worth around a staggering 45m Euros. He soon sustained an injury which suspended his progress.

Though still regarded as a valuable asset by his club, the suggestion has been made that Manchester United could have another punt for him.

The Star reported earlier:

Moyes has been scouring Europe looking at potential targets and believes playmaker Moura would be a huge success at Old Trafford.

But it remains to be seen if PSG are willing to sell Moura and if United’s valuation of the 21-year-old matches theirs.

If available Moyes would hopefully pull out all the stops to sign Moura. He’s like Nani but with end product. In fact, stylistically, he reminds us more of Andros Townsend in the way he glides across the turf so quickly but so smoothly. But, if anything, he possesses more trickery than the England man. At 21 Moura has many good years ahead of him and his potential is almost limitless.

Let’s set the little genius in action. Are there any Manchester United fans who wouldn’t want Moura?
