Manchester United keen on enforcer with c37m release clause – report

United linked with yet another midfielder

If the second half of the transfer window is the same as the first then it’s going to be monumentally bad news for Manchester United.

But, looking at things in a more optimistic way, David Moyes could well be laying the groundwork for several signings in the next fortnight. He’s been to Italy and then on to France to check out the cream of Europe. Hopefully he will eventually find some available talent to fill the gaps at Manchester United.

One player who has been linked again to the club, but probably wouldn’t arrive until the summer at least, is Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho.

The Mirror last month reported that Manchester United scouts have been to see the player on six consecutive occasions.

The Express have followed up on those reports by suggesting that Manchester United maybe allowed to do a deal for the brilliant midfielder if they allow Nani to go in the opposite direction. They say:

the paper (A Bola) goes on to report that Sporting may be willing to ease their financial limitations by giving United first refusal on Carvalho.

Though Carvalho may appear an attractive option for Moyes, the midfield schemer has a sizeable release clause thought to be worth around £37 million.

Carvalho joined Sporting as a junior in 2005 and made his senior debut for the club in 2011. After 13 appearances, he went out on loan and has played 48 games for Cercle Brugge over the last year, scoring three goals in the process. Such has been his form whilst out on loan that he made his debut for the senior Portugal national side, in their play-off against Sweden, at the back end of 2013.

A defensive midfielder in essence he looks like a really good player but not necessarily what Manchester United need right now. With Michael Carrick still able to do a top job in the less advances role United could really do with signing a visionary attacking midfielder. Let’s see him in action.

Moyes is playing with fire!!!we’re still struggling to secure champions league sport but he’s taking long to rescue us from this situation, the least he could’ve done by now is signing players in departments we’re not balanced but he’s busy wasting time. the last thing fans need is to see him do last minute deals that won’t bring value to ManU.
