There has been a lot of hype around the supposed Arsenal ‘war chest’ this summer. Depending where you go for your info this piece of military furniture contains anywhere up to £100m. Or £101m if you include the revenues from the departures of Arshavin, Squillaci and Denilson. Anyhoo, talk is cheap and until we actually see cash being splashed, then that is exactly what it will remain. Talk. Gunners everywhere are crying out ‘show us your wonga Wenger!’
Despite there being a seemingly growing queue of interested parties, Arsenal remain favourites with bookmakers SKYbet to procure the services of the talented Montenegrin striker Stevan Jovetic. Although new Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is also reported to be interested in the Fiorentina hotshot, the bookies see fit to keep Arsenal as 7/4 favourites for his signature.
Chelsea probably have more cash to splash but with a catalogue of players, including Hazard, Mata and Oscar who could step into the number 10 position of secondary striker at the club, Mourinho may prioritise other positions. That’s not to say Jovetic wouldn’t be a valuable asset to Chelsea. With 35 goals in just over 100 games for his current club, he hasn’t been prolific, but he has so much more to his game than just goals. Jovetic is the sort of player who makes things happen for others. His assist rate may well exceed his goal-scoring tally in years to come and every side needs a great creator. At 23 he still has so much room for improvement and looks as if he may become one of Europe’s leading lights over the next few years.
We still think that Arsenal need to prioritise an out and out striker. But, if there is serious money to spend this summer then what about a Benteke/Jovetic strike force come August? Arsenal fans, would that partnership boil your potatoes or would you rather sign someone else? Let us know your thoughts. Meantime, click the link to see the lad in action.

In my opinion we should get Higuain and Jovetic. What a partnership that could turn out to be. However, the only problem is that we will need to fork out nearly 50 million to get both.

I think arsenal should sign Wayne Rooney and Cesc Fabragas back would really be ideal for the club. And either Pogba or Alaba in the defensive mid role

I still have faith in Giroud, however, we need to get back up strikers to have more depth… we need to strenghten our midfield so that we can have flowing passing and attack like the Arsenal of old, another player similar to Santi will be great and another winger. unless the Ox is gonna step up this season. and 2 or 3 defenders.
