Liverpool

Oh Brother! Luis talks about leaving Liverpool

The man who has made Liverpool tick for the last couple of years has delivered a hammer blow to the club, and the fans, by declaring that he would be open to offers from other clubs wishing to employ him. He told The Metro:

‘If Bayern Munich makes an offer I would certainly be willing to listen and think about it,’

The Uruguyan, who has scored 33 goals in 70 appearances, and at times carried Liverpool offered some hope to the fans by also stating that:

‘It doesn’t mean I will definitely leave, it just means that I will not automatically reject other clubs.’

But it really does feel that this could be the beginning of the end for Suarez at Liverpool. Suarez and his representatives aren’t stupid. They totally understand the impact that this message will have. Some would say that this is a deliberate ploy to put Suarez on the market in good time for a summer move.

It’s really bad news for Liverpool fans but there is little loyalty in football these days and Suarez doesn’t have the strength of ties to the club as someone like Steven Gerrard, who grew up in the city. Suarez has given his all to Liverpool but perhaps feels he should be playing at a higher level. Whilst Brendan Rodgers is doing good long term work on behalf of Liverpool, Suarez wants success now. Maybe now he feels that he is at the wrong club to realise his lofty ambitions.

At 26 he isn’t too far from his last big contract and he clearly wants to be at a club that he feels can compete for the top prizes each year. Bayern are patently in the running but Manchester City, Chelsea, PSG and the Spanish giants will surely all be interested. We could easily imagine Suarez succeeding David Villa at Barcelona.

So Liverpool fans, how do you feel about the Suarez situation?

after Torres had expressed undying love and gratitude for the support we gave him and the respect for his privacy in our city and then left us for hated rivals, very few reds invested emotionally in Suarez – however, we have shown him loyalty and support when the rest of the country branded him public enemy No 1 and had a reasonable expectation that that loyalty would be returned – time will tell if this lad is made of better stuff than the rest but no one will faint with shock if he turns out to be the same as the FT and the others.

Liverpool is bigger than one person, if he suarez decides to leave despite all the protections, love, supports and hospitality we the fans have shown him well we’re not going to die, and we’ll not feel it bad more than Torres saga, another player must pick up. That’s just it.

I wouldn’t begrudge Suarez if he were to leave, Torres confessed his undying love for the city, the club, and said he had no need to leave, we stuck by him during his rough patch and sang his name regardless, he then stuck a transfer request in on the last day of the TW, left us up shit creek and just when it seemed we were turning a corner. Its now much clearer its going to be a longer path to success than anyone imagined and we are not going to be in the CL this season or probably the next. Suarez is at the top of his game and needs CL football. If he leaves us plenty of time to replace him and goes for the right price go luck to him. he is a different class to us right now. who knows with the money he provides we may uncover the ‘next’ Suarez. Who would have thought anyone was capable of replacing Torres at the time..

Oh what a pity if he leaves us, wel if decided to take his leaves then let him go and Liverpool will go for another person. But i wish him not to leave us bcos we love him.
