Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will firm up his long standing interest in Daniel Sturridge by placing a bid for the Chelsea striker on January 1st. He will also attempt to prise Tom Ince from Blackpool, despite feverish interest in the player from a host of Premier League clubs.

The Guardian reports that, with only 1 fit striker, the Liverpool top brass will loosen the purse strings just enough to let out the £18m required to snare the pair. Sturridge is available and willing for £12m. The cost of Ince would be offset by the sell on fee that Liverpool themselves could be expected to net from their initial purchase of the player – Ince left Anfield just last year.

If Rodgers is quick off the mark Liverpool could realistically get these two in to bring even more youth to a forward line which already boasts the precocious speed demon, Raheem Sterling.

If i was either player id avoid that cancer of a club like the plague, they will only ruin them and set them back. Im sure they’re more ambitious though rather than sinking low to join Liverpool. They have ruined so many decent players over the years.
